Year 6- News
As they start their last term at Hammond, Year 6 have started reading, ‘Dare to be you’ by Matthew Syed. ‘Dare to Be you’ is a wonderful book about believing in yourself and being your own action hero.
In maths, the children have been studying various ways of reporting and finding answers using statistics; telling the time and reading timetables.
In English, they have finished their biography on an influential person and are starting a narrative based on last half term’s text, ‘Skellig’. In Wider Curriculum, children’s learning is around the big question: What is variation and what does that mean for all living things?
SATs week is approaching and we have residential and trips to the Country Park planned this term.
We also look forward to starting our Year 6 production, details of this will be communicated with the children over the next few weeks.
