The School Day

The official school day starts with morning registration at 8:45am and ends at 3:15pm. This includes breaks but not optional before or after school activities. The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hours.

8:30am

The gates to school open at 8:30am where you receive a warm welcome from one of our senior leaders. Parents are invited to drop children off at the classroom door where they will be greeted by the class teacher. In addition, whiteboards will be updated each day to communicate the children’s learning.

Children are expected to be in class by 8.45am at the very latest when the gates will be closed.

Children are asked to store their belongings in their locker and begin their morning activities. Teachers will then take the register and ask children for their lunch choice.

9am

Every day starts and ends with reading. The children receive their daily CUPS Reading Curriculum lesson followed by Maths or Writing. Children enjoy a daily assembly at 10.30am followed by morning break. After break the children will conclude the morning with Maths or Writing.

12:15pm

At lunchtime children will either go straight into the lunch hall or go outside to play. Children go into lunch by a lunchtime supervisor holding up your class name, the order is rotated daily. During lunchtime there are lunchtime supervisors in the playground and dining hall, there are also children nominated as Playground Ambassadors who can help you if you need it. We are very proud of our extensive club offer during lunch which includes: lego, chess, choir, a variety of sports and the incredibly popular Pokemon!

1:15pm

Lunch ends at 1:15pm when the teacher will take the register once more. Children will enjoy two lessons each afternoon.

3:15pm

The school day ends at 3.15pm and parents are invited to meet the children from the classroom doors or if pre-agreed, children are allowed to walk home or meet someone at an agreed meeting point. Similar to the morning, children will be greeted by a member of staff as they leave.
