School Meals

We are fortunate to have a kitchen on site, providing freshly cooked, nutritious and delicious school meals every day.

Who is our Caterer?

We are excited to share some updates to school meals from September 2026, including new menus from our catering partner Aspens and a new online ordering system, SchoolGrid.

What’s changing?

New school dinner menus

Introducing SchoolGrid – SchoolGrid is our new online meal ordering system, where you’ll be able to view menus and ingredients, before choosing meals for your child.  Please take a moment to review the attached instructions from SchoolGrid and view the video linked.

What do you need to do now before September 2026?

Activate your SchoolGrid account – please look out for a welcome email from SchoolGrid and activate your account when it arrives. Once the menus are live, SchoolGrid will send you an email notification and you’ll be ready to start ordering. You can order (or cancel) a full term in advance and as late as 9.00am on the day.

Even if your child takes packed lunch, we encourage you to activate your account and declare any allergies so we can safely provide a meal for your child in any instance.

Tell us about any allergies or medical diet needs – If your child has an allergy or needs a medical diet and you have already completed the form - thank you, no further action is required.  Please check to ensure this is reflected on your child’s account. If you are yet to complete the form for Aspens, please utilise this link: Aspens Allergy and Medical diet request form.

How Much Does a School Meal Cost?

Freshly prepared lunches are available each day for £2.80 per meal – children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and those eligible for Free School Meals will continue to enjoy school meals at no cost.

How do I apply for Free School Meals?

Parents who are in receipt of certain government benefits may qualify for their children to receive Free School Meals. Please inform the school of your eligibility as this information may enable us to support your child in other ways in addition to providing a meal.

Packed Lunches

If your child will be bringing in a packed lunch, we ask that you support us in encouraging healthy eating habits and do not include fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars and no glass bottles. For healthy lunch ideas please see  Lunchbox ideas and recipes – Healthier Families - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Please remember - to ensure the safety of children with nut and seed allergies, please carefully check packaging for ingredients and do not send nuts/seeds or food containing nuts/seeds into school.

Fruit and Vegetable Scheme

The school takes part in the ‘Fruit and Vegetable Scheme’ which enables each child in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to have a piece of fruit or vegetable each day, free of any charge. We receive fresh deliveries every couple of days and these are distributed to children to eat during their break/snack time.

Cool Milk

We are a 'Cool Milk' school - register your child today to receive free and subsidised school milk.
