Vision and Values

As a school we have used the Simon Sinek Golden Circle research to develop our vision statement. We want the ‘Why’ to be our driving force that underpins everything about why we do what we do in school. Understanding our ‘How’ and ‘What’ is key to ensure that our school is clear on the process of ‘how’ our ‘why’ is achieved.

Our Why…

At our school we are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment that empowers our pupils to reach their full potential.

Our vision is to be a beacon of excellence in our community, where all pupils, regardless of their background or starting point, can achieve remarkable academic success and personal growth. We aspire to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and character to become confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens, making a positive impact on the world.

Our ‘How’

Our core values of Positivity, Respect, Inclusion, Dedication, and Enthusiasm underpin everything we do at Lightwater Village School. These values are woven into the fabric of our school, guiding our decisions, shaping our policies, and inspiring our daily interactions.

  1. Positivity: We believe in the power of a positive mindset. Our pupils are encouraged to approach challenges with optimism, resilience, and a growth mindset, empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
  2. Respect: We cultivate a culture of mutual respect, where everyone is treated with dignity and kindness. Our pupils learn to appreciate diversity, embrace differences, and treat others as they would wish to be treated themselves.
  3. Inclusion: We are committed to creating a truly inclusive environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. We celebrate the unique strengths and talents of each individual, and ensure that all pupils have equal access to opportunities and support.
  4. Dedication: We instil in our pupils a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Our pupils are encouraged to approach their learning with focus, determination, and a desire to continually improve and grow.
  5. Enthusiasm: We believe that a love of learning is the foundation for academic success. Our pupils are inspired by passionate, engaging teachers who foster a genuine enthusiasm for knowledge and discovery.

Our ‘What’

We adopt a supportive, understanding, and caring approach to education. We recognise that each child is on a unique journey, and we tailor our teaching and support to meet their individual needs. Our experienced and dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure that every pupil feels safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Through our comprehensive curriculum, enrichment activities, and strong partnerships with families and the local community, we strive to provide our pupils with a well-rounded education that nurtures their intellectual, social, and emotional development. We are committed to preparing our pupils for the challenges and opportunities of the future, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive in an ever-changing world and ultimately, Be the best they can be!
