Year 6 News
What an amazing start to the last half of the Summer term for Year 6. Michael Jones the Engagement Officer for Thames Basin Heaths Partnership came to Hammond School to present a whole school assembly about the local heathland and tell us about the amazing wildlife that lives at Lightwater Country Park, including how everyone can help look after it. Year 6 joined Michael and Hannah on a walk around the Country Park to experience the wildlife and habitats Michael so passionately spoke about.
Year 6 had a fantastic time on residential at PGL Grosvenor Hall, Ashford. They took part in many exciting activities such as: archery, zip lining, climbing and fencing. Children were exceptionally well behaved and we were incredibly proud of them. A fun time was had by all!
Year 6 have been busy practising for their end of year production alongside taking part in Bikeability. We also welcomed Paralympian, Georgia Carmichael who is a Team GB Rower who led an assembly and circuit sessions. We have started transition lessons in preparation for our big move to secondary school. Year 6 look forward to performing to you on the evening of 9th and 10th June.
