Remote Learning

We are committed to providing our pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

See Saw

We have chosen to use See Saw as an online platform for delivering teaching and learning materials to pupils. Each pupil will recieve an individual See Saw login and their account will be monitored by their year group teachers. Our teachers monitor See Saw regularly and give pupils individual feedback using the platform.

See Saw was accessed by the vast majority of pupils and was used successfully during school closure. For pupils unable to access See Saw alternative arrangements can be made.

We have decided to continue to use See Saw for remote learning. For how to guides please visit https://web.seesaw.me/remote-learning-for-families.

Our remote learning curriculum package

We are very proud of the curriculum package offered during school closure and to isolating pupils. Each year group is provided with their own bespoke curriculum, designed, monitored and assessed by the normal class teachers. Our weekly remote lessons include:

  • Spelling punctuation and grammar
  • Reading
  • Mathematics
  • Topic activities linked to our thematic curriculum
  • Music lessons from our specialist music teacher
  • Art
  • PE activities

The lesson materials are uploaded each week and can be accessed at a time to suit the pupil. In addition to this, in the event of school closure we offer weekly ‘circle time’ live lessons via video link to provide pupils with social and emotional support and contact with their class group.

Isolating pupils

Pupils having to isolate due to coronavirus will be set remote learning on the See Saw platform. This learning will mirror the curriculum being delivered in school. The work completed by pupils will be checked by their class teacher.

Possible future school closures

In the unfortunate event of any future school closures or restrictions we will continue to use See Saw to deliver remote learning to pupils.
