Hammond pupils put on a dazzling display for Children In Need

Students at  Hammond wore dazzling neon colours for the day, as the youngsters and their teachers worked to help raise money as part of the annual nationwide fundraising extravaganza.

Every penny counted as the pupils did their bit along with the likes of Peter Kay, the Strictly Come Dancing team and the cast of EastEnders to raise a record £50.1m for the BBC charity.

"It's always fun to do something a bit different at school and when it's for such a good cause, that makes it all the more memorable," said David Blackmore, a spokesman for the schools which are both members of the GLF Schools group multi-academy trust.

"The children see so many of their own favourites being part of Children In Need and making a difference, so a chance to be involved with it and contribute to it in their own way means the world to them and will help them remember what it's all about."
