Year 4

Welcome to the Year 4 Home Page!

Spring

Over the Spring Term, Year 4 are learning all about the Romans in Britain. Our art and DT topics link well to this with our focus being on designing and making a mosaic tile and sewing bullas. The science topics this term are Sound and Animals and the children have already begun to investigate how sound travels. In English we have learnt about instruction writing and poetry and will be moving onto learning about discussion writing and letters. In maths, we have finished learning about multiplication and division and will be moving onto learning about area, fractions and decimals.

Homework

We expect children to be reading daily and logging this in the reading section of their homework diary. They should also be practising their spellings and times tables daily.

We send weekly homework tasks out as follows:

Monday - Spelling homework issued in blue book (due in on Friday)

Friday - Maths and SPAG homework issued in CGP books (due in on following Friday)

There are also optional homework projects that you can find details of in your child's homework folder. These can be handed in at any point in the term.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with your child's class teacher.
