Parent Feedback

We like to hear your views! Listening to and consulting with the views of the school community is an important part of improving what we do and developing our policy and practice as a school.

We hold termly Class Representative meetings and all parents are invited to contribute their thoughts and opinions to these meetings via their Class Rep.  The aim of this group is to talk through initiatives and ideas, discuss specific areas of school provision and gain constructive feedback from representatives across the school. Each meeting has a different focus.  The next meeting is on 28th November and will focus on marking and assessment.

We send out an annual parent questionnaire to gather the views of parents on what we do well and what we can improve. We take this feedback any ideas submitted to feed into our school development plan. Below are some comments from the 2016-17 questionnaire:

"<My daughter> started the school as a really nervous, unsure and not very confident girl. She has come on leaps and bounds since September 2016 and this is down to the environment, teachers, and positive encouragement she has received that has allowed her to blossom".   Year 3 parent, May 2017

"I love how both schools place so much importance on values and how you treat other people. To me, this is a hugely important part of my child's schooling". Respondent to parental questionnaire, May 2017

Our child is extremely happy and is achieving a high level of attainment. We would to compliment the school especially for their extensive and up to date IT provision and teaching, including after school clubs, which has really benefitted our child and makes the school stand out. Year 5 parent, May 2016

What do parents think Hammond does well as a school?

The range of extra curricular activities that the children can participate is amazing, as well as the number of different musical instruments they can learn.

Nuturing and friendly environment.

Enjoyable learning that makes my child want to go to school every day!

Giving recognition for good work the school provides opportunities to show achievement and offers positive encouragement.

You provide a stimulating and engaging curriculum for our child. This has helped them to improve in areas that they may have otherwise struggled with.

Children are delivered a balanced, holistic education with emphasis on secure values which are reinforced in daily practice.

We encourage parents to submit their views on the school to Ofsted via https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/
