Welcome to our Eco Council page

Eco-Council is made up of representatives from each class. The children who have been elected show a keen interest in animals, nature and looking after our environment.

The purpose of the Council is to promote the care of our school environment and to help safeguard our resources. This is done through assemblies and campaigns such as ‘Switch off Fortnight’. Long term projects which the Council has suggested are often carried out by Eco-Club (an after school activity) which also maintains our ongoing activities, such as looking after the pond, Bugingham Palace (our bug hotel) and planting bulbs. This year’s Eco-Council will soon be creating a new action plan.

Hammonds holds the Eco-Schools Silver award.
