Pupil Parliament

Our Pupil Parliament members have been elected and are thoroughly enjoying their roles!

As part of the election process each candidate had to explain to their class members why they thought they would be a a good class representative and after a vote, a Head of class and Deputy Head were elected.

Last term the children worked alongside the Playground Ambassadors to create a child-friendly Anti Bullying policy and made Anti-bullying posters.

This term, our Pupil Parliament members are proud to announce that we will be opening ‘The Hammond Toast Shop.’ From the 11th February, The Hammond Toast Shop will be run by the Pupil Parliament and will provide an opportunity at break times twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, for the children to purchase up to two pieces of toast as a different and healthy snack.

Each slice of buttered toast will cost 20p, with additional toppings, such as marmite, jam and honey, incurring an extra charge of 10p. Profits made from the toast shop will be given to the wonderful School in a Bag charity. School in a Bag is a simple solution created to give poor, orphaned, vulnerable and disaster-affected children throughout the world the opportunity to be equipped for school. Each school bag is filled with stationery, learning resources and eating utensils that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and, above all, learn.

Any donations of unopened condiments, (including: jam, marmite, honey or marmalade) butter spreads or bread would be most welcome. Please note, due to severe nut allergies amongst the pupils and staff, we remain a nut free school and will not be able to accept or offer nut butters of any kind. Furthermore, chocolate spreads cannot be accepted for the same reason and we thank you for your understanding in this matter. Donations can be given to Miss Cunningham (Galileo Class) from Wednesday 6th February.
